Get picked up by your private guide at your Hong Kong accommodations, and then travel by public transport (own expense) to the Wan Chai MTR station, where you’ll begin your food exploration of this fascinating area.

Start your morning right by digging into breakfast, served Hong Kong-style, at a “Cha Chang Teng” (Hong Kong-style café), where you can select from among local favorites like coffee, milk tea, pineapple buns with fresh butter, and breakfast sandwiches.

Following your morning meal, travel to a nearby “wet market” a traditional Hong Kong commercial center where fresh fish, poultry, and meat are sold. The “wet” terminology comes from the fact the market’s concrete floor needs frequent washing. While these typical markets tend to be quite pungent, they’re also known to locals as the best place to get the freshest food at the lowest prices.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, stop at three locally-run family food stalls for more food tasting. You’ll pick from among Hong Kong favorites like barbecue pork or roasted pork belly, and visit the bakery to savor egg tarts and egg puffs. Just nearby is the “Blue House,” where you’ll stop to learn about the building’s role as one of Hong Kong’s first hospitals in the 1870s. The building was later acquired by the government in the 1970s and painted blue, hence the name. Kung Fu expert Lam Sai Wing later used the structure as a studio for his action-packed films.

Finish your trip by visiting Pak Tai Temple, a Taoist religious site that dates back to 1863. Explore the temple’s three main halls and admire its 10-foot tall (3-meter) copper image of the site’s namesake, Pak Tai. After your temple visit, your guide will help bring you back to your accommodations.

It was quite good, the guide was very entertaining. Just wish the food selection was a bit more extensive. No main dishes were offered or able to be tried.
