We did the Midtown Tour and I wouldn't hesitate signing up for another tour with this company in the future. Our guide (Dawnie) was fabulous! Even though there was a light rain at the beginning of our tour and just three of us (my MIL, my daughter and me), Dawnie went ahead with the tour after making sure we were okay with the conditions. The tour was very informative and the food/drink...so delicious! Dawnie is not only very knowledgeable about the history, geography, culture, food scene, art, etc. of the community/area, but she is a lovely person. The communication leading up to the tour was great (answering my questions and verifying information) as well as their work with the restaurants to accommodate our dietary needs without compromising flavor and variety. This would make a great gift for a local or someone visiting the area. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

What a fantastic day we had.  Dawny, our tour guide, is so knowledgable about Sacramento and art/food in the mid town area.  I have lived around the sacramento region since the mid 80’s and learned new information about my town.  The food places we tasted/toured were so good. Dawnie was a great guide and an overall ambassador of  Sacramento. She was so knowledgeable about the food and the city and was very personable. The food selections at each stop were great. Overall, I rated the tour five stars because we liked her and had a great time. 

For the benefit of future guests, I would suggest that the tour description and highlights be updated. Both the description and highlights section mentioned visiting and exploring galleries, which we did not. We did walk around the city and viewed murals on painted on buildings. It also mentions that wine tasting is included. While we did have beverages at each of the five stops, only one stop included the choice of an alcoholic beverage. Again, we enjoyed the tour but were expecting to visit galleries and have wine tastings.

Our tour guide was VERY engaging, informative, educational, and interesting.  The food choices were fair, and if it were just for the food I wouldn’t repeat this tour, but our host made the tour interesting and informative.  And she walked us back to where our cat was parked to insure we didn’t get lost.  THAT impressed both of us.

Midtown is a hip and active neighborhood, so there a lot of restaurants and bars to choose from. This tour gives you a taste and some ideas of where else you might want to explore. The murals are simply amazing, and hearing the stories behind them was interesting. Highly recommend this tour for an afternoon out!

A friend and I participated in the Midtown Arts Tour on a sunny Saturday afternoon in May. While the tour takes approximately 3 hours, it actually wasn't that much walking. Our group consisted of 12 people plus our guide...friends, an old couple, a brand new couple, and even a father & daughter.

I cannot say enough good things about our tour. Our guide (and co-owner), Dawnie, was both knowledgeable, professional, personable, and interesting. (She shared that she sometimes teaches a class at CSUS on the sociology of food, which explains her vast knowledge.)

On the way from one restaurant to the next, we stopped and admired and learned about a few of Sacramento's many murals. 

This tour was a bit pricier than one that I enjoyed in Victoria in 2022, but we enjoyed a LOT more food on this tour!

Know that the stops can vary from tour to tour, but this is what we enjoyed while learning about the food history of the greater Sacramento region:
1st Stop: Taco al Pastor and Margaritas
2nd Stop: Organic Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate
3rd Stop: A variety of Thai food
4th Stop: A variety of Vegan food
          I am a total carnivore, yet I really enjoyed the food here!
5th and Final Stop: Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches.

I have lived in Sacramento since the mid-'80s and taught here for 30+ years, yet I learned things about my city that I did not know and enjoyed 4 restaurants that I had not previously visited. To be honest, I had not even heard of 2 of the places.

If you are visiting Sacramento or are a local who wants to discover some hidden gems in your city . . . don't hesitate to book this tour!

My husband and I took the midtown walking tour as part of our anniversary celebration.  Our tour guide Dottie was friendly, down to earth, and very knowledgeable about the history of Sacramento and the current happenings in Sacramento.  It was a beautiful spring day to be walking around enjoying different foods and drinks from different cultures.  Dottie also gave us helpful, unique job finding tips.

This was such a great way to have three tours wrapped into one fun afternoon.  This tour in midtown had history, art (theatre and murals) and food! I have lived in the area for almost 10 years and didn't realize what I was missing out on. We started at Azul's with a taco and margarita and ended with Ginger Elizabeth with Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich, yum!! In between there were tours of the local murals and the history behind them.  In total the walk was under 2 miles but packed with so many restaurants, history and art, I lost count and forgot to takes photos of all because I was having such a good time.  Thanks Dawnie for an amazing afternoon!
