  • Audioguides are offered in English and German; there is also a media guide in Austrian sign language
  • Children and Youths (age 0-18) can enter the museums for free - free tickets are issued at the museum's ticket counter
  • Extra fees to be paid on-site:
  • Audioguides can be purchased at the ticket counter for 3€ each
  • You'll visit the biomorphic building known as the 'friendly alien' in Graz

  • Your ticket is valid for a single entry on the date selected during the booking

  • Guided tours are available in German on Sundays at 3.30 pm, Sundays at 11.00 am; English on Sundays at 2.00 pm
  • You'll see artworks from the 1960s to today, both regional and international
  • Guided tours are approximately 1 hour
  • Opening hours are Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm
  • Museum hours/days of operation are subject to change. Please check the opening hours before your visit

Description

Visit the international contemporary art museum that attracts numerous art lovers from all over the world with your single entrance ticket to Kunsthaus Graz. Built in 2003 to celebrate the European Capital of Culture, the sensational Graz Art Museum has become an architectural landmark of the Mur metropolis. Inside visitors can view exhibitions from the 1960s to the present day.The structure itself is a sight to behold! Designed by Colin Fournier and Sir Peter Cook in the biomorphic architecture style, its exterior is made of iridescent blue acrylic panels that double as photovoltaic panels. On the eastern side of the building, a light and media facade (BIX) is illuminated with 946 fluorescent lamps serving both artists and curators in communicating with the outdoor urban space. Due to its modern shape contrasting with the surroundings it is locally known as the 'friendly alien'.Journey through galleries and hallways spread across two floors focusing on regional and international contemporary art with themes such as global trends, permanent and changing temporary exhibitions.
