Hop inside a climate-controlled 4WD vehicle and meet your guide, who points out Dubai’s landmarks as you head out of the city. It’s about a 45-minute drive to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, which conserves the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Arabian Desert. Upon reaching the desert, take a leisurely drive as your guide explains the historical significance of the landscape. Hear about native flora and fauna—and possibly spot native wildlife in the reserve. It’s a short drive to a Bedouin-style camp where a campfire awaits under the stars. Take part in a selection of activities before a three-course buffet is served Arabic-style. It’s accompanied by unlimited beer and wine (except during the holy month of Ramadan and other religious holidays). Adventurous travelers can take a camel ride or go sandboarding down the dunes. Lounge on tent cushions and large carpets while watching a belly dancing performance, and take home a souvenir of your evening with hand-painted henna art. For a few minutes, the camp lights are turned off so that you can soak up the beauty of the night sky. Your desert excursion concludes with the return to Dubai and drop-off at your hotel before midnight.
