1st train journey this millennium. My last was as an able bodied passenger, this time I'm disabled. Station has decent parking & drop off/pick up point. Was as clean as a train station can be. Usual grime but no rubbish. Staff were fantastic and helpful. Big shout out to Tom who advised me and assisted me on to the train. Exactly the sort of person you want in a customer facing role. All the staff were excellent but he was above and beyond.

Arrived an hour before my train departed so I could grab a drink but was told I couldn’t go through with my 1st class ticket until 20mins before my train departed. Absolutely no where to sit outside the barrier before you get in. I won’t be traveling from here again. Good luck to any food & drink vendors if this is the policy.

Arrived at the rail station and walked to Mersey Square. The precinct was busy (school holidays just started). A lot of it is under cover. Building work in the centre for improvements. A variety of shops, and up the brew is the large undercover market. Much to see and find.
