1 out of 5 stars

I recently went to the Modena train station, and regrettably, it was not a pleasant trip. I would give the station a 1 out of 5 rating because of how poorly I feel about it altogether. Because of the folks I see hanging around the area each time I visit this station, I always feel uneasy. This has been a persistent problem, which worries me. Additionally, I was dissatisfied with the service I received when I went to buy an abbonamento. The person helping us handled our request incorrectly, in a rude and ambiguous manner. Simple abbonamento purchases were overly difficult, and to make matters worse, system blackouts and other problems delayed down the entire process. I find it unbelievable that there are issues every time I come to this station. For a transit hub to continually provide subpar service and raise safety concerns is unacceptable. I urge the administration to raise service standards and security precautions since I would not advise anyone to use this train station. In conclusion, I would not advise anyone searching for a secure and hassle-free travel experience to use this train station. My experience was disappointing, and I hope the management will solve these concerns in the right way.

Pretty reasonable train station. All the standard fare and the station itself is relatively clean as well!

Perfectly-decent train station with a ticket office, automatic ticket machines, a departure board, a waiting area, a tobacconist's, a bar and a McDonalds. Everything clearly signposted in Italian and in English. Like in every train station in Italy there are helpful posters listing all arrivals and all departures in chronological order with intermediate stations and platform numbers shown. Buses to the centre leave directly from outside although it is a 10-minute walk anyway.
