Worst experience ever! We bought tickets from trenitalia machine from Brescia to Venice in the 1st of April. We followed the steps in the machine chose the time we wanted to leave and we paid by card. Then we entered the train and after 10 minutes a ticket inspector came checked our ticket and told us that we had to validate them on the station before entering and now he must charge us 100euros per person as a fine. We explained him that we don’t speak Italian and we didn’t know that we have to validate the ticket. In the printed ticket there was nothing written in English only in Italian. He was speaking to us only in Italian he didn’t even try to speak english. Not a single word. I have to mention that there was a broken machine for ticket validation in the MAIN ENTRANCE of the station in the 1st of April. Next day we went to TRENORD office of Brescia’s station and after some time we found 1 man that was speaking English. And here it comes. We explained him the situation we had and he told us. I use Google translate when I travel. Use it too and translate the ticket next time. He was trenord stuff and I was expecting better. In the station you will find nobody who speaks anything else than Italian. Good luck if you use that station and remember VALIDATE your ticket before entering the train and use Google translate 😂

Worst experience of my life, we were billed because we had not verified our "tickets" when the hall ticket was only in italic language and we choose also the date-time in the machine...so what's the point. Also, the machine in the station was broken and the other two were hidden inside the station. We try to talk to the inspector inside the train of the 1st of April in the morning shift but he was clearly not in the mood so he charge all three of us costing a lot of money for our vacation no matter what we told him that we did not have that much money(we were tourist you see)when we try to tell him that, he was taking pictures of our passports and ID's, harassment and racism in its majesty. We spoke the other day in the info point and the staff was rude and ironic telling us also the bill was at its highest ... he could be charged as not that much. Also, they told us to use "Google Translate" in order to translate the ticket... I must report that many tourists faced the same problem as us but clearly Trenitalia and Trenord do not care.

Small station, but built in 1854 so the exterior architecture is worth a look. Like in every station in Italy, there are large posters listing all the arrivals and departures in chronological order with platform number and intermediate stops. Watch out that platforms 1 Ovest & 2 Ovest & 3 Ovest are in a completely different part of the station to platforms 1-3. I got caught out once and missed my train! Inside there are: a large ticket office; some self-service ticket machines; a café; a ticket office for the rival ITALO train service; left luggage; toilets requiring a €1 coin to get in, grrrr; mini-market. Outside there are yellow-orange buses that serve the town, while opposite is the bus station with blue buses that connect to the surrounding small towns & villages. The Metro to the right. All within a few metres of each other, all easily visible.
